The world is full of problems we as a foundation are attempting to be part of the solution. We as a team are successful in our lives and the desire to give back something to the society is the driving force to take up this initiative in the form of an NGO. There is only a limited scope that a team like ours can undertake, but whatever little we do we want to make it count. Samriti Foundation in addition to doing its own activities, within its own means, is helping donors reach out to the right organizations, so as to ensure that their donations are well utilized.

About Samriti

Samriti is now focused on grassroots projects and organizations that are working to
     > educate children
     > feed the hungry
     > build low budget houses for the poor
     > skill development
     > digital training
     > Vocational training
and support needy children of military veterans among various other things.

All donations go through the Samriti Foundation, a registered organization vide KA/2013/0061266, at Bangalore, India.

A 10-15% of the funds received are used to cover the cost of operations to include finding and vetting projects, providing training and support to project leaders, attracting donors, and maintaining an innovative, informative web presence. It also includes the fees assessed by vendors for credit card processing, mobile giving, wire transfers, and other fees charged by financial institutions. The rest of funds received are used to support multiple causes.

Most donors choose to make an incremental contribution at checkout to cover this fee and ensure that 100% of their donation goes to the project(s) that they have selected to support. This results in an average of 90% of all funds donated getting to the grassroots project(s) selected.

The team of key drivers within the organization has had successful careers, and are financially independent. In 2013, Mrs Sulochana R and Lt Col (Retd) Govind V Rajulu decided to set up an NGO to contribute to the less privileged lot and in general contribute to the well-being of the society at large. Sulochana, having a Doctorate in education with over 25 years of teaching experience and being with kids, it was natural for her to focus on education and mentoring children as a focus area. Col Govind, coming from a Military background, has a large network of, travelled the length and breadth of the country, has been to the most inaccessible areas, and understands the demographics of the country in general. His project management and project delivery skills are outstanding.
Both Sulochana and Govind are driven by philanthropic instincts, with a burning desire to give back something to the society.
